Mike Basha, P.Eng., P.Geo.
President and CEO, Director
Mr. Basha has been working in the mineral exploration industry for 29 years with major and junior exploration companies both domestically and internationally. His experience includes project generation, fieldwork, and senior management in gold, base-metal and magmatic nickel-copper-platinum group elements exploration. Mr. Basha was instrumental in the discovery of the Hammerdown Gold deposit in Newfoundland and was formerly Vice President Exploration of Cornerstone Capital Resources Corp., heading up the generative initiative that led to development of a large portfolio of successful ventures for Cornerstone in Canada and Ecuador. Mr. Basha holds degrees in geology and engineering and in addition to his exploration experience has worked as a consulting geotechnical and environmental engineer in the past. Mr Basha is a principal and major shareholder of Aurion.
Dennis N. Clarke, B.A., LL.B., LL.M.
Mr. Clarke is a Partner with Goodland Buckingham, Barristers and Solicitors. He has practiced law for the past twenty years, specializing in Corporate and Business, Energy and Natural Resources and Mergers and Acquisitions sectors. He recently represented Nalcor Energy in the negotiation and finalization of a major hydro deal between the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia. He served as assistant corporate secretary and general external counsel to FPI Ltd, a former TSE listed company, and has represented a number of junior mining companies and junior oil and gas companies, providing advice and general counsel on joint operating agreements, royalty agreements, farm-in and farm-out agreements, and general regulatory compliance.
Richard A. Graham, P. Geol.
Mr. Graham is a professional geologist registered with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta and has approximately 25 years of domestic and international geologic experience. Since February 2004, Mr. Graham has been and is currently Manager, Corporate Development for Earlston Management Corp., a privately owned management company focused on the resource sector. This work has included mineral project evaluation for potential asset backed lending ranging from C$1 million to US$120 million and more than 18 public company mergers/reverse takeovers with financings ranging from C$1 million to C$241.5 million. He has extensive Canadian public market Board experience and is Chief Compliance Officer of Ionic Securities Ltd., a registered Exempt Market Dealer.
Mr. Lotan is the President of LHI an investment company focused on natural resource opportunities. In his previous career David was the founder and CEO of the structured finance operations of Polar Capital – a Canadian merchant bank and alternative asset manager, acted as a portfolio manager for the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and was a risk management consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers focused on commodities and rates. Mr. Lotan is a Chartered Accountant and CPA.
David Loveys, CPA, C.A.
Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Secretary, Director
Mr. Loveys’ experience has been primarily with Canadian publicly traded companies operating in the domestic and international markets. He has held senior financial positions with CHC Helicopter Corporation, the NewTel Group of Companies and Cornerstone Capital Resources Inc.
David has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1981. He successfully completed the Investment Dealers Association of Canada, Canadian Securities Course in 1987.
Matti Talikka, M.Sc., FAusIMM(CP)
Mr. Talikka is a geologist with experience in the fields of geological research, mineral exploration, project development, mining and minerals processing. He has held senior technical and management positions in exploration, mining and minerals processing technology companies. Between 2007 and 2015 he was employed by Dragon Mining Limited where he held several positions including General Manager Exploration. Currently Mr. Talikka works as Director, Geometallurgy and Project Evaluation for technology group Outotec.
Mr. Talikka is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and Chartered Professional under the discipline of Geology.
Ms. Hodge holds degrees from Memorial University of Newfoundland and for more than 25 years has worked in management and accounting for both public and privately held companies. She has held the positions of accountant, Corporate Secretary, Treasurer and CFO and brings a vast knowledge of financial reporting, corporate governance and public company regulatory compliance.
Mathias Forss, M.Sc.
Exploration Manager Scandinavia
Mr. Forss has a M.Sc. degree in Geology and Mineralogy degree from Åbo Akademi University in Finland. He is co-founder and Managing Director of Scandinavian GeoPool, a geological consulting firm based in Finland with a subsidiary in Sweden.
His main expertise is in project and land management for early to advanced stage exploration projects. He has worked on projects in several different geological settings including gold, base metals, iron ore and fluorspar within the Nordic countries of Finland, Sweden and Norway. Fluent in Finnish, Swedish and English, Mr. Forss is an effective liaison with regulatory authorities, local landowners and other stakeholders. He is also proficient in Spectral Geochemical Analysis and has worked abroad in this capacity.
Eugene Flood, P.Geo.
Eugene Flood is a professional geologist with more than 32 years exploration experience in multiple commodities including gold, diamonds and copper in Canada and globally. He discovered the ULU gold deposit in Nunavut, Canada and was a key member of the exploration team that discovered and advanced the Doris and Boston gold deposits in Hope Bay, Nunavut. Mr Flood specializes in geospatial mineral prospectivity analysis and has experience from reconnaissance to resource development with junior and major mining companies. He is currently acting as a consulting technical advisor to this project for Aurion.
